Previous Community Projects

Theatre Nemo provides a wide range of workshops for people within the community, covering numerous art forms. Apart from our studio, we also travel to other organisations who commission our services. Our studio at Bridgegate is the main point of contact for people wishing to engage with Theatre Nemo, and is a constant link to the community for some of our more vulnerable users, providing invaluable opportunities for people leaving full-time care or custody.

Our community choir, drama and animation groups are important for improving the self-confidence of our participants, and giving them a creative outlet. They also work well as social hubs, where those suffering from mental ill health can share their experiences and build strong friendships.

Our community groups are given regular opportunities to showcase their work to the public, which is also important in developing expressive, and communicative skills.

Our guitar class runs on a Tuesday between 2 and 4pm, at our Bridgegate Studio

Our choir also rehearses at our Bridgegate Studio, on Monday and Friday between 7pm and 9pm. We will be performing a few songs at a variety of locations around Glasgow in the Big Celebrations during the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Our Taiko Drumming classes run every Wednesday between 2 and 4pm at the Govanhill Baths. Participants in this class will also get a chance to play at locations around Glasgow in the Big Celebrations during the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The Taiko and Choir groups are fully funded by the National Lottery's 'Celebrate' fund and are free to attend. We also have a small budget for travel for people who would not manage to come otherwise.
